La creatividad del diseño: una propuesta sociocultural

Resumen

En un marco donde la creatividad se vincula con el progreso, este ensayo propone un acercamiento sociocultural al estudio de los procesos creativos de los diseñadores. En diseño, la originalidad ha acaparado las definiciones sobre la creatividad y aún hoy funge como referente central para definir a los sujetos y sus prácticas. En este sentido, resulta pertinente asumir una postura multidisciplinar que retome los avances del enfoque sociocultural de la psicología y la práctica profesional de los diseñadores para, por un lado, eludir posiciones esencialistas y, por otro, comprender la creatividad como un fenómeno donde se interrelacionan cuatro aspectos: el individuo, el trabajo en equipo, los intermediarios y el espacio. Se propone una definición de la creatividad en diseño y se identifica una serie de problemas que debería tomarse en cuenta para evitar dicotomías entre lo creativo y lo no creativo.
