Educational, Community, and Research Networks. Study of an Oral Memory Recovery Process
Abstract
In this article, we present an educational transformation practice based on the creation of an educational, community, and research network, grounded in the community funds of knowledge and identity theory and praxis. We report on a study involving the design of an educational project focused on oral tradition and historical memory in a secondary school located in a peripheral neighborhood of Barcelona. To implement this project, a study group was formed comprising educators, practitioners, and researchers from the school, a community association that self-identifies as Romani, a public library, and the university. In the results section, we describe the spiral process of intervention and analyze inter-institutional tensions and contradictions related to learning and the purpose of educational activity for young people. We also examine the development of a more participatory design aimed at fostering a critical and transformative educational practice.
