Abstract

In this paper I analyze the case of cerebral self-help literature and describe how the organization of neuroscientific definitions about the brain is combined within a grammar of personal wellbeing Based on a corpus of publication of cerebral self-help, I describe the ways in which a brain narrative of behaviour and emotions is created and how is articulated with a proposal for personal growth. The analysis illuminates how the popularization of neuroscientific discourse provides with narrative resources to deal with and give meaning to life experiences.
