The social construction of violence
Abstract
As a further contribution to understanding violence, we will present here some contributions that social psychology has made to the understanding of aggressive behavior and social violence. We do so from our disciplinary and academic perspective because it is the one we know best, but also because it will allow us to illustrate how to articulate analytical procedures from very different perspectives and with different approaches. And finally, because it allows us to illustrate the influences that the social, historical, and ideological context has on the understanding of any social process such as aggression and violence.
