Review of Moral et al., (2024). Comunes Educativos
Abstract
This review analyzes the book "Educational Commons: An Experience of Reflection, Action, and Pedagogical Documentation," a collective work that proposes a profound review of the role of education and social intervention in today's contemporary world, based on the paradigm of the commons. The text is simultaneously translated into English and is edited with illustrations that make it enjoyable to read. Its content offers an alternative approach to the neoliberal educational model, highlighting self-managed, collaborative, and emancipatory experiences in Jerez de la Frontera and Seville (Spain). For the field and discipline of Social Work, the book constitutes a valuable contribution to rethinking social intervention from non-institutionalized frameworks oriented toward community empowerment.
