Abasteciendo con datos las apuestas deportivas online: data scouts y extractivismo ampliado

Las plataformas de apuestas deportivas online ofrecen infinidad de partidos en vivo, de todo tipo de deportes, categorías y lugares del mundo, posibilitando apuestas recurrentes y simultáneas a los partidos. Para abastecer con datos este mercado, empresas especializadas producen en vivo bases de datos veloces, detalladas y confiables. Los data scouts son profesionales entrenados para generar feeds de datos desde los estadios con aplicaciones celulares específicas. Realizamos una etnografía con un grupo de data scouts en Brasil, en diálogo con estudios sociales sobre apuestas deportivas online y trabajo digital en el capitalismo de plataformas. Comparados a otros trabajadores de plataformas, los data scouts se consideran privilegiados por su alta remuneración (pagos en euro) y espacio afectivo valorizado (deporte, especialmente fútbol). Sin tensiones competitivas, encontramos dinámicas cooperativas entre ellos. Los data scouts son piezas fundamentales en cadenas de extractivismo ampliado con mejores condiciones que otros trabajadores del capitalismo de plataformas.
