Políticas de la vulnerabilidad. Cuerpo y luchas sociales en la teoría social contemporánea
Resumen
El concepto de vulnerabilidad ocupa hoy un destacado lugar en distintos debates de las ciencias sociales y en las políticas públicas. Este ensayo analiza su significado político considerando los riesgos y ambivalencias que se han identificado a propósito de sus variados usos contemporáneos. Para abordar este problema se discuten las reflexiones que dos autores centrales de la teoría social contemporánea (Judith Butler en su crítica del poder y Axel Honneth en su teoría del reconocimiento) realizan en torno a la vulnerabilidad del cuerpo y su significado político. Se muestra que ambos interpretan la vulnerabilidad corporal como un fenómeno social cuyo significado es imposible de aislar de sus contextos históricos y políticos, sirviendo además como base afectiva para el surgimiento de luchas por el reconocimiento. Finalmente se destacan similitudes y diferencias entre ambas propuestas, así como su relevancia en los debates contemporáneos sobre el significado de una “política de la vulnerabilidad”.Palabras clave
