Abstract

This review presents the contributions of the book under review (Theory and Practice of Ethnographic Research: A Methodological Proposal), its structure and content, and the work’s overall value in comparison to previous publications on the same topic. The fact that ethnography is increasingly used as a qualitative research method implies that ethnography is understood as the use of qualitative techniques rather than the characteristics that encompass epistemological and methodological reflection on ethnography. Therefore, given the journal’s interdisciplinary focus on the humanities and social sciences, the publication of this review is important for raising awareness of the book in question, as it serves as an essential reference for anyone seeking to generate data through ethnographies with an analytical focus.

Virtudes Téllez Delgado, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid

Doctora en Antropología Social. Profesora Contratada Doctora del Departamento de Antropología Social y Pensamiento Filosófico Español en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Sus principales líneas de investigación son: religiosidad y espiritualidad; ciudadanía, musulmanes en España e islamofobia; procesos de patrimonialización y políticas de representación; y metodología etnográfica. Ha publicado en revistas y libros nacionales e internacionales.
