Abstract

This paper contains a review of Carmen Pardo's latest book, "En el silencio de la cultura". Our view emphasizes especially the aspects related to the history of psychology, extending through the historical course of this discipline several important changes in the conception of art and of the human being throughout the 20th century. Also, Pardo's essay opens a critical reflection on the epistemology of all social sciences through studies on the field of aesthetics, thus enabling an enriching multidisciplinary look.

Doctor en Psicología por UNED. Especialista en psicología del arte y profesor de Historia de la Psicología en UB y UOC. Miembro del Grup d'Història de Nou Barris, supervisando investigación sobre historia local de las instituciones manicomiales de Barcelona.
