Identity, experience, difference. New meanings of the political in Esta puente mi espalda

Abstract

The possibility of utilizing identity references and gender imaginaries in order to construct a glance that is capable of conveying subjects’ experience and their contradictions, currently constitutes a reflective scenario that pushes the boundaries of symbolic cartographies that are printed over our bodies, making us question the mechanisms through which that which stays in the shadows, and is branded like ‘other’, overflows the identities which before seemed unified and coherent: In the writing of colored women; woman, experience, difference and identity turn into not-linear-anymore but dismountable articulations, which need to be revised from spaces capable of mobilizing not only certainties or ultimate truths but more so, questions, doubts and contradictions.
