Título en inglés: Limits and opportunities of politics in university. Evaluation and its missteps
Abstract
The current situation in university is not only the consequence of what happens outside. University also plays a leading role in the production and maintenance of the social order it belongs to. In this paper we shall analyze, firstly, the dominant ideology in university (scientistic and technocratic) and place it in relation with changes in the economic environment and especially with its role producing captive subjectivities. Secondly, we shall examine specifically the ideology behind evaluation and its effects. Far from expanding the possibilities for more democratization of knowledge, it homogenizes value criteria and invites uncritical adaptation to the situation. However, in the daily classroom work there are opportunities that open the possibility of a university which is not a mere space of adaptation and reproduction of what already exists. Thus, in the last section, we acknowledge the possibility of confronting the depoliticizing role of university through the encouragement of thought, as something which cannot be deduced from knowledge.
