What is happening to the university in the UK?
Abstract
In this article I present the main changes that have taken place in British higher education in recent years. I examine various reports – written by institutions linked to the successive governments – which propose its transformation into an education provided by the market. I also put forward the criticisms that have been made to these proposals, as well as to the new programs and evaluation frameworks for research, particularly with regard to the fragile situation of the humanities.
