Abstract

This text is the translation of Callon, Michel y Latour, Bruno (1997). "Tu ne calculeras pas!" ou comment symétriser le don et le capital. Revue du MAUSS, 9, 45-70. In its pages, the authors show a new and refreshing way of figuring out what we called “world market”, and in more general terms, another way of understanding capitalism.

Profesor de sociología en la 'Ecole des Mines de Paris', director del 'Centre de Sociologie de l'Innovation' desde 1982 a 1994, presidente de la 4S (Society for Social Studies of Science) en 1998-1999, Michel Callon es, al lado de Bruno Latour y John Law, uno de los «fundadores» de lo que se denomina la 'Actor-Network Theory' (teoría del actor-red), o también sociología de la traducción.
