Unthinking "immigration" (Or a bet for better understanding social mobilities and changes in contemporary societies)
Abstract
This interview opens a whole range of questions and discourses about an increasingly discussed social category: immigration. It attempts to raise attention about the concept of contemporary migrations and its diffusion. Like any dialogue the interview transcend the limits that define its aim, and for this reason, appears as a vast journey among some of the main problems, agents and events of social change in recent decades. Targeting ideas, readings and past or current investigations, the interview shows a personal sociological background that suggests and invites to unthink the concept of immigration and also indicates potential ways to explore it epistemologically, theoretically and methodologically in the challenging task to better understand modern times.
