Gordura, estigma y resistencia: El activismo gordo reconfigura la deseabilidad y la despatologización del cuerpo
Resumen
En este estudio examinamos el impacto del activismo gordo en la resignificación de la gordura como identidad política y en la resistencia al estigma corporal. Mediante un enfoque cualitativo, basado en un grupo de discusión con mujeres activistas y el análisis de sus interacciones en redes sociales, se exploran sus experiencias en torno a la autoimagen, la percepción social de la gordura y las estrategias de resistencia frente a la discriminación estructural. Los resultados muestran que la gordura sigue vinculada a narrativas patologizantes y excluyentes, afectando la autoestima y el acceso a derechos. Sin embargo, las participantes desafían estos discursos mediante la visibilización de cuerpos gordos, la crítica a determinados planteamientos biomédicos y la resignificación del término “gorda” como afirmación identitaria. Este artículo se enmarca en los estudios críticos de la gordura con una perspectiva interseccional sobre el peso, el género y la representación social de los cuerpos no normativos.
