Re/thinking Narrative Productions as a feminist methodological approach: research experiences on romantic love

Abstract

Drawing from our experience in a research project about young feminist women meanings and experiences on romantic love conducted with Narrative Productions, our aim in this article is to summarize some methodological considerations held on the process. First, we contextualize the research project where these questions emerge, considering aspects related to the topic of study and the methodological design. Secondly, we deepen over four elements that are key for both feminist epistemological discussion and our own research process: 1) reflexivity, 2) articulation, 3) power relationships and 4) social transformation. For each of them, we assess potentialities and boundaries in Narrative Production methodology, illustrating some specific tensions we found in our research practice.

Nagore García Fernández, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

Estudiante de doctorado y participante del grupo Fractalidades en Investigación Crítica FIC del Departamento de Psicologia Social de la Universidad
Autónoma de Barcelona. Sus intereses académicos se sitúan entre
la psicología social crítica y los estudios feministas y de género.
Actualmente realizando una investigación en torno a las experiencias y comprensiones en torno al amor romántico de jóvenes activistas feminis Participa activamente de la asociación cultural Ningún Lugar de la cual es secretaria.

Marisela Montenegro Martínez, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

Profesora del Departamento de Psicología Social de la UAB, miembro del grupo "Fractalidades en Investigación Crítica" y co-coordinadora del Máster de Investigación e Intervención Psicosocial de la misma universidad. Ha analizado aspectos epistemológicos, metodológicos, políticos y éticos de la investigación y la intervención social desde perspectivas feministas y críticas. Ha realizado estudios en el campo de los servicios para mujeres inmigrantes, el ámbito de las disidencias sexo-genéricas y las relaciones entre género y tecnología, entre otros.
